Peacock In our new home, there is this vanity table left behind by the previous owners. It's this black lacquered thing, every inch of which is inlaid with mother of pearl decoration. At first I thought it was the most god-awful ugliest piece of furniture that I'd ever seen. But lately I've been getting caught up in the sheer density of detail. I mean, EVERY inch is covered with tiny tiny little pieces of luminescent shell lining, cut into the shapes of leaves, feathers, petals and blades of grass! I'm slowly being won over by the impressiveness of the artist's undertaking. It must have taken years to make. Xmas Tree 2007 - Peacock treetop decoration My theme was blue, white, and silver this year, and I couldn't find anything that I liked for the top of the tree. I like htis peacock with the very long tail, but I wish I had some way of getting better light on it.
